Our Tourism For Good Commitment
At Discover Adelaide Tours, we believe tourism should do more than create memorable experiences. It should also support the places, people and communities that make South Australia so special.
As a locally owned tour company, we are committed to operating responsibly and making thoughtful choices across our business. From the vehicles we drive to the businesses we visit, the people we employ and the causes we support, we aim to create a positive impact through every tour.

Our approach also aligns with the spirit of Tourism Australia’s Green is Our Gold principles: celebrating community, embracing culture, preserving place, respecting wildlife and encouraging visitors to travel with care.

01
Environmental responsibility
We are actively investing in a more efficient and lower-impact fleet.
Discover Adelaide Tours has recently purchased two new touring vehicles, significantly reducing fuel use compared with older vehicles. One of these vehicles is an electric-hybrid model, helping to further reduce our carbon footprint while still providing guests with a comfortable, premium touring experience.
By choosing modern, fuel-efficient vehicles and keeping our group sizes small, we aim to reduce the environmental impact of our tours while continuing to showcase South Australia’s beautiful landscapes responsibly.
02
Social responsibility
We are proud to support local community initiatives that make a meaningful difference.

Discover Adelaide Tours recently provided a private Barossa Valley tour as a prize for the Red Faces event, helping raise funds to support youth mental health. We believe tourism businesses have an important role to play in giving back to the communities around them, and we are pleased to contribute in ways that support wellbeing, connection and local fundraising efforts.

03

Economic responsibility
Tourism has the power to support far more than one business.

Our tours are designed to introduce guests to outstanding South Australian producers, venues and family-owned businesses. We regularly partner with local wineries, farms, distilleries, cafés, food producers, wildlife operators and regional attractions, bringing guests directly to their doors.

This means our tours help create valuable visitor spending across the regions we visit. Guests often sample, purchase and share the products they discover, creating benefits that continue beyond the tour itself.

By choosing Discover Adelaide Tours, guests are also supporting a wider network of local businesses and helping keep tourism income within South Australia.
04
Ethical responsibility
We believe responsible tourism starts with how people are treated.

Our driver-guides are local people who bring genuine knowledge, care and personality to each tour. By employing local staff, we support South Australian families and ensure our guests experience the region through people who know it well.

We are also committed to fair and generous remuneration. Our team is paid properly for the skill, responsibility and care required to deliver premium small-group experiences. We believe this leads to better outcomes for our staff, our guests and the long-term sustainability of our business.

05

Cultural responsibility
Discover Adelaide Tours acknowledges the deep and continuing connection Aboriginal people have to Country across Australia. In particular, we acknowledge the Kaurna people as the Traditional Owners of the Adelaide Plains, where all our tours begin. We recognise that this land has been cared for, understood and connected to through culture, story and custodianship for tens of thousands of years.
As a tourism business, we have a responsibility to speak about place with respect, to avoid treating landscapes as simply scenic backdrops, and to encourage guests to understand that the regions we visit hold cultural meaning far beyond what can be seen in a single day.
06
Responsibility to Wildlife
South Australia’s wildlife is one of the great privileges of travelling here, and we believe it should always be experienced with care. Discover Adelaide Tours follows a no-touching wild animals policy and encourages guests to observe wildlife respectfully, without disturbing natural behaviours or habitats.
Whether viewing sea lions at Seal Bay, koalas on Kangaroo Island or native animals in the wild, our approach is to keep wildlife encounters responsible, low-impact and guided by respect for the animals and the places they call home.

Our commitment
Tourism For Good is not a separate project for us. It is part of how we choose to operate. We believe that responsible tourism should celebrate community, preserve the places we visit, respect local culture, support regional businesses and encourage guests to travel with care.
That means investing in more efficient vehicles, supporting local causes, partnering with family-owned businesses, looking after our team and making thoughtful choices that benefit the people, places, wildlife and communities connected to our tours.
Through the experiences we provide, we hope guests feel our deep connection to South Australia, its landscapes, its stories and its people. Our hope is that every guest takes a piece of that true South Australian spirit home with them, carrying forward a greater appreciation for place, community and care for the world around us.
